Dog photo of the year competition.

Two DoggieFiles were both quick off the mark to send me this article from the Guardian. Now, as I'm cynical about the motives of the UK Kennel Club I wish to highlight the fact that none of the dogs pictured are the breeds on the brink of ruin, largely thanks to the Kennel Club. I am also disappointed that the Guardian is spruiking this seemingly innocent photo competition without mentioning the on-going controversy with the actions and policies of the UK Kennel Club.

Now, these photos are stunning but I can't help feeling that the PR department at the UK Kennel Club are trying to look all caring and friendly after a run of disastrous exposes on their policies resulting in rampant inbreeding, debilitating deformities and the near-destruction of breeds such as the Bulldog, Pug, French Bulldog, Boxer, Dalmatian and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel breeds to name just a few.

Are you unaware of how detrimental the UK Kennel Club is to the welfare of dogs? Here are a couple of things to catch up on. WARNING: These two documentaries are very upsetting and what makes it worse is that the Kennel Club hasn't take adequate responsibility for their breeder controlled policies. I think those of you outside of the UK will find these eye-opening.
